So when is OG’s recital? Friday, May 16th???

Ummm, that would be a NO!!!! Yes, her recital date has changed!!! WE were scheduled to leave at 7am on Sat 5/17 for our annually Fl Beach/Disney trip….the Fl Grandparent’s were scheduled to fly BACK home to FL early Sat afternoon since her recital was supposed to be Fri 5/16…and NOW OG’s recital is at 4pm on Saturday! NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently, when we switched classes back at the beginning of December, her recital date changed too…this of course we were not informed about. I do remember asking when we switched “will everything be ok with her costume? Is her schedule changing at all? Do we need to get new dates etc?”…I was told it will all be fine and everything is the same. NOT SO. I should have asked a little bit more.

So I am reading the recital calendar posted in the hall at dance last night and that is when I notice that OG’s group doesn’t seem to be on the right date. So I asked her teacher after class and she said “her recital is on Saturday, not Friday…the date changed when she switched classes in December”. UGH!! So I FLIPPED out and totally caused a scene…thank goodness most kids had gone and only one Mom was still in the lobby.

So great!!!!! My poor parents now have to change their flight AGAIN (they already had to change once b/c they were supposed to fly SkyBus and they went belly up)…they are on Allegient Air now, but Allegient only flys on Tues, Thurs, Fri & Sat….so if they stayed with them, they would have to wait to come home till Tues afternoon 5/20…and just hang out in our house while we weren’t there for almost 3 days…not fun.
So now the option is they change their flight to come in town on Tues instead of Thurs and come to the dress rehearsal on Wed night (that night has been changed too…dress rehearsal was originally Tues). That might be good b/c at dress rehearsal you can videotape, take pix etc…you can’t do that at the recital. And it will flow and be almost just as good as the official recital. We hope. So…we’ll see. What a mess.

The change was great to all other 3 sets of grandparents, so that helps. J For us it STINKS!!! We were supposed to leave Sat at 7am as I said…so now we will probably leave at 7pm and drive till midnight…stay somewhere around Savannah and incur another hotel expense (ICK) and then wake up at 7am and leave and be at the beach in FL by 11am at the latest. So we don’t really miss a day of sun and sand but we will miss Sat night dinner and getting settled in etc…plus we (hubbie) will be driving late & in the dark. BOOOOOOOO
