taking a break...

I will be taking a break (or more of a break) for a little longer. My heart is sad and other things are a priority right now. I am preparing to say goodbye to my wonderful loving, sweet, amazing Mother. I am taking as much time as I can to be with her while she is still with us.

Please check back every week or so. I will return...eventually.

Halloween Goodies!

The first (of I am sure more to come) Halloween goodie boxes came in the mail this week! As you can tell, OG was VERY excited! Thanks Daddy Bear & Kay Kay...her grandparents in Florida.

Here's comes fall!!

Fall is here in NC! Actually more like winter. ha It was in the 30's last night and was in the 5o's for the high most of the wknd. But it felt GREAT! It seems fall is gonna be quick this year and winter will come soon. But at least later this wk we will get a few days of 70's. That will be nice.

We got most of our pumpkins the last wk in September at a local fancy grocery...because I couldn't wait any longer and they were cheap. But this wknd, we went to a little pumpkin patch at a local church. It was chilly and fun. They had some funky pumpkins. I got a green/gray one and OG got another small one to add to her collection.

Today I ran in the Women's Only 5k and OG ran in the kids 400 meters as part of the race! Her FIRST race. I was so proud! It was slightly unorganized - at the start the girls were so excited they were running all over each other and knocking each other down etc. OG was one that got knocked down. And I thought it was OVER then. But she got right up and got to running! She did not quit. It was a fun event and I think she has the racing bug! At least I hope so. She said she wants to run the kids race at the Gobbler with Daddy. I sure he will think that is great b/c it will get him out of running the 5k, which he hates! lol

pumpkin gettin'

We...or should I say *I* couldn't stand it anymore. We...*I* had to go get our pumpkins last week. A local store had them 3 for $10...and they had some white ones too. So we got a white and 2 orange and one bigger orange one ($5 each). They are nicely positioned on our porch with the mums in their new planters and in our yard. They look nice! I LOVE FALL!

On this day when OG went to school, I got a text on my phone not 3 minutes after I dropped her off in the dropoff line: "OG's hair is soo beautiful. She looks soo cute today!" It was from her teacher. And I have to agree.
