My Sweet Girl

Something changed when she turned 6.  Yes, she is OLDER.  Yes, she can say she is 6.  But she just seems BIGGER. 

She is taller, has longer hair, she is swimming like a fish, going off the diving board, doing so well with her manners, being polite, being very independedent, eating better (she used to never want to eat), saying prayers without acting goofy (at dinner and at bedtime), drawing well, reading well, writing stories, making good decisions, being lovey dovey, saying grown up things, really telling me about her day in the afternoon when I pick her up.

I am so proud of her!  Welcome to the big time OG!

Welcome to 6...

This morning, nothing seemd to go OG's way.  We were grumpy when we got up, we didn't want to put on our bathing suit or sunscreen (we have to do all this each AM before we send her off to camp, in addition to packing her lunch, pool bag, change of clothes, change of shoes...who said summer was slow and easy? I feel more overwhelmed in the AM now than I do during the school year), didn't want to eat or potty, was upset because her eyes hurt.  DRAMA.  And of COURSE she wanted Daddy to do EVERYTHING.  She is such a Daddy's girl...unless she is hurt...then she is a Mommy's girl.  That's ok.  I am glad I can be there for her when she is hurt.

But today between the time of 6:45 and 7:30 it was nutso.  We were ALL ready to go back to bed.  But off she went to camp (Daddy took her) and she was fine.  Welcome to 6 years old!

OG's 6th Birthday Party!

Has it really been 6 years?  It is so hard to believe.  And of course we had to have a big blow out party...and WOW! This was a big one!  We had about 26 kids and about 45 adults!!!

Did someone have a birthday?

Yes...SOMEONE turned SIX...AND got her ears pierced!  Pix to come soon.  Her party was over a week ago and I haven't even posted those.  I am a slacker.

Soccer Awards

"This award goes to someone who was a bit talkative and first...and loved to play around on the field alot...but eventually got into it and even got in there and tried to kick the ball by the end"...um yeah....that award went to MY child.  LOL  How did we ALL know it went to my child when the coach said that?
But it was funny.  We had a good time at the soccer awards party/ceremony tonight.  Will we be doing soccer again next year?  NOPE, probably not, but that's ok.  We got a COOL trophy this year with a spinning soccer ball on it.  And THAT'S what it's all about. ;)
