no more ME ME ME...

I have been popped on the wrist by MY Dad....it IS my blog and I THOUGHT I could write about ME if I wanted to....but I guess not. Oh well...I see who everyone loves better!!! ha j/k The title of this blog IS afterall Life With OG not Life With OG & Me. So I get it. Sorry Daddy!! :)
Sooo....I haven't posted any pix from the beach last weekend so here ya go. We went to the beach w/ WK and her parents...we stayed at my friends (WK's Mom's) family's condo at Emerald Isle. It was such a nice weekend and we had a nice time away from home. It wasn't very warm but we did get one day of good sun and not too much wind...but we did really have 2 nice days, even though we were clothed in pants and long sleeves most of the time!! ha We ate a lot (ooh, the yummy Ruffles and Dean's French Onion Dip)and basically lazed around like a bunch of whales! JUST THE WAY I LIKE IT!! :)

Searching for Easter baskets!

We found 'em!

What I do all day

I like reading the "day in the life" stuff on other blogs...so here is mine. Not anything funny or exciting, or interesting even...just my typical weekday!!! It is actually pretty boring.

Weekday in the Life

6:25am Wake up, usually/almost ALWAYS one minute before the alarm goes off (weird)

6:26am Stumble to bathroom to apply “my face”, fix hair etc (shower is not included in this time, NOT b/c I am dirty but b/c I shower at night)

6:38am Go to OG’s room to get her dressed (I put out her clothes the night before)…struggle to put on panties, pants, socks, shoes, shirt while she is still half asleep.

6:48ish am Send her on her merry way downstairs to Daddy who is supposed to be making her breakfast (pouring cereal, scrambling an egg, putting grapes in a baggie for the ride to school)

6:49am Head to my closet to figure out what to wear

6:50am Look around and wonder where all my clothes are

6:51am Get mad at my clothes and hate them all

6:52am FINALLY settle on something to wear that is suitable

6:55am I am done getting dressed and now put on jewelry

6:56am Back to bathroom to brush teeth, spritz perfume, maybe potty and give myself a once over…it will have to do.

7:00am Open blinds on all 4 windows in our bedroom and the one in my closet (I am obsessive compulsive about this and I HAVE TO DO IT BEFORE I LEAVE!)

7:01am Head downstairs, gather a glass of tea (sweetened with Splenda thank.you.very.much) and some fruit for breakfast

7:04am Give the 1 minute “let’s get out the door” alert to OG & hubbie

7:05am Announce that is Time To Go (we HAVE to be walking out the door at 7:05)

7:07am, 08 or 09 Everyone is FINALLY out the door and in the garage and we are buckling car seats, turning on the DVD player (sometimes), getting situated etc.

7:12am (this is the LATEST we can leave to be on time) We are off to school!!!!

7:25am We arrive at school (wash hands, brush and fix hair – it is easier to do there)

7:35am Hugs and kisses and goodbyes

7:37am On the road to work

7:52am ish Apply Lipstick and check for stray eyebrows in mirror sitting at traffic light to get off the interstate ramp.

7:55am Arrive at work, check email, websites, etc

8:00am – 4:58 pm work work email work blog work work lunch work blog work email work email work

4:59pm out the door

5:21pm Arrive at OG’s school

5:28pm Leave OG’s school (If it is Tuesday I get her at MeeMaws at 5:2o and we go straight to dance which starts at 6pm)

5:44pm Arrive at home, feed dog, take ottomans, baskets, tv trays etc off of chairs & couches (we have to put these up on the furniture everyday when we leave so the dog won’t get on the furniture –UGH)

5:48pm Get OG situated with a craft, toy or TV while I run upstairs to get into comfy pants.

5:53pm Put dog out

5:55pm Let dog in

6:00pm Help organize the meal for dinner (but don’t cook it) or clean the house while hubbie cooks (he does most `all` of the cooking)

6:30pm ish Dinner

7:00pm Clean up from dinner

7:15pm Start heading OG upstairs for bed and activities….bath (if she’s lucky), teeth, potty, pj’s etc

7:45pm Read books

7:58 Turn off lights, say prayers, sit with her for a while….almost fall asleep…decide I need to leave…she is usually about asleep anyway.

7:59pm Shower

8:10pm Put comfies back on

8:15pm Catch up on DVR’d shows or actual live TV…or maybe read

10:01pm Head upstairs to bed, brush teeth, brush hair, wash face and maybe exfoliate face, get water for bedside

10:15pm Hope in bed, put on Elizabeth Arden 8 Hr Cream on lips (the best), lotion on hands….check alarm 50 thousand times -again, I am compulsive), apply my eye mask or eye pillow and try to go to sleep.

10:35pm Think of something I need to remember for work tomorrow…call work VM and leave myself a msg.

10:38pm Think of something else…call work VM and leave myself another msg.

10:40pm Decide I am insane…apply more 8 Hr Cream to lips and try to doze off only to get up 8 hrs later and start it all over again.

you are jealous of my pants!!!!

OK, this is random and dumb but I have to tell you all about my deal!!! I might have already bragged to a few of you but here goes again!!!

I got some great dress/work pants at Ann Taylor LOFT last week for .....wait for it....$1.97

YES, I said $1.97...I thought I had paid only $3.88 but looked at the receipt today and it was $1.97!!!! WOWZA! What a deal!

They were not on the big sale rack...just on a regular rack that had SALE above it on a small sign. They weren't marked down either. So I asked the sales lady how much these pants and another pair were. They other pair was $30 something on sale (still a good deal)....the pair I got the deal on was $3.88. "WHAT??!!" I said....then she told me that that was their lowest marked price before they sent them away back to corporate or whatever. And they are not messed up, not out of style....they are AWESOME~~~ And ORIGINALLY priced at $69+ I think it was. They rang up $1.97 with my coupon.

JACKPOT! So then I had a coupon for $50 of $100 purchase....my total purchase came up to about $108'ish (with tax) b/c everything was on sale...then they took $50 off...my final total was $55.09!!! (I know the math doesn't add up but that is what it was).

Sooo....

*2 pairs of cool flip flops (1 pr originally $19.50, the other pair $14.50 I think, and they were buy 1 get 1 half off)

*a dress (originally $79)..it looks better in person...and *I* look better than this model in person...NOT!! lol

*pants (originally $69+'ish)...similar to these but more of a charcoal grey

*a sweater/top (originally $60) I KNOW it looks "9 to 5" 'ish but it is really cool in person!! ...and I like it, so there .
ANYWAY, all of this awesomeness for $55.09!!!!!!!!!!!

YES!!!!!!!

Thanks for letting me share.....

Bye Bye Coolness...Hello Mommy'ness

Today was a big day in the OG Family...today we got rid of our car we have had for 4 years to the day. We got our car March 24, 2004...a few months before OG was born. It was a good car...Volvo, xc90 (SUV)...stylin, pretty and nice!! It gave us four great years...and HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN BILLS!! UGH Man what a rip. Nice car, you look good driving it, but OH did an oil change turn into $200-$500 of "This needs to be fixed etc." ICK

I cannot belive I have not blogged about it until today but 2 mths ago I got something else!!! (we held onto the Volvo until the last day we had to turn it in for end of lease)YES!!!....so we went from...

THIS:

TO THIS, my 2008 Toyota Sienna XLE:

Woo Hoo! A Mommy Mini-Van with my own monogram (yes, I AM a dork) and everything!!!!! LOL :) I LOVE it!! So much room and so many cool features and about 14 + cup holders!! NUTS!!!! I think OFFICIALLY there are 10 cupholders, but we counted 14 + cup "spots". It has automoatic open side doors and an automatic open(remote)back tailgate! AWESOME!!! And a little pluggy thingie to hook up my iPod (still need to learn how to do that).

When I showed up at the Volvo dealership this afternoon I pulled in there Big Pimpin' in my van (hubbie was bringing the Volvo and we were going to leave it there and I would take him back home to his car). So I pulled in, walked inside , and THIS was the conversation:

Me: HI, I am here to turn in my lease (pointing to the parking lot)

Salesman: Ma'am, I think you are at the wrong place...

Me: NO, I am here to trade in my Volvo. My husband will be arriving with it soon. What do I need to sign?

Salesman: Oh good, I thought you were trying to give THAT back to us...ha ha ha So you ready to get another Volvo today?

ME(annoyed): No, I bougth that Van. It is thebestcarever!

Salesman: ha ha, ok. But you are sure going to miss your Volvo, I mean the seats...you are going to miss that nice leather (and he continues to go on and on about what I will miss).

ME(really annoyed): Well, I too have nice leather seats in the Sienna...and they are softer and not as hard as the ones in the (stinky old) Volvo. (so there!!!!!!)

Salesman: Trust me, you'll miss it!

ME (irate): Well, I have been driving this Sienna for 2 mths now and have not ONCE SINCE I HAVE HAD IT driven the Volvo. (my chest is getting hot and red and blotchy at this point) The Volvo has been SITTING in my driveway not being driven. So NO...I will NOT MISS IT. I may miss the coolness of it, or miss having a "NICE" car to take to swanky events...but I know for sure I DO NOT MISS IT.

Salesman: OK, well, enjoy the van...come back sometime in a few years when you want to be someone else other than a mom...you'll change your mind a few yrs down the road.

**WHAT!!!??????? WHATEVER DUDE...I MAY come back one day when I am done with the van but I will NOT be asking for you to be my saleperson!!!!! THE NERVE!!!!!!!

SO LONG Mr Volvo!!! HELLO Big Mini!!! :) :)

Class Pictures

We had class pix this AM at 7:00am...yes, you read that right 7:00 AM!! We arrived at school at 6:55AM all spiffy and ready to go. We were the first ones there. HA...take THAT Kennedy's Mommy who was hot on my trail in the parking lot!!! Now, the pix are pretty much all day, but if you come early you can be there with your kid while they get the pix done...otherwise, you leave them at school, they get junk on their dress, their hair looks like a raggamuffin and they are a mess by the time their class gets their pix done. That option was NOT for us. So being the controllingeverythingmustbeperfectwewillbethefirstonesthere Mom that I am...we got there early. Of course!!

She wore her cute Easter dress and her new shoes that I got at Tar.get last night just for the occasion. Shoes always show in these school pix so we had to dress from head to toe. I was totally stressed out at Tar.get yesterday trying to find the right color shoes...and I FINALLY found them.

Well, she took the pix and she did great! Last time for school pix in the fall she was a little nervous and stuck her tounge out a little bit in the side of her mouth and barely smiled. This time she smiled her cute cheesy grin. Perfect! But......they had a new photography company this time...not the one they have used for forever, or at least since we have been going there. This new girl has gotten with the times and has a digital camera. She can check to make sure she got good shots, and you too can look and not stress for two weeks on "did she catch that smile?" or "I think she blinked can you take another one?"...so that was cool.

Not so cool? The fact that SHOESDID NOT show...I reapeat SHOESDIDNOTSHOW!! UGH...all that work for nothing!! And after I told Baby Will's mom ET that "YES, shoes did show and I NEED to get shoes!!!!!" (Baby Will goes to OG's school...he had his pix yesterday so we were having this conversation yesterday through a long email correspondence.) It was mainly just upper body shots for the pix...they had some other props where I could see that shoes would show if they used those...but we used the old 70's like Olan Mills wooden Fence thingie...sounds yuck but they were cute! So no shoes...hmmph!! Oh well. I will post scanned versions when I get them back!

Yeah!!!

Palm Sunday

We went to another church this weekend for the Baptism of ET & KT's sweet son Baby Will . What a nice event it was...I cried through the whole Baptism part. It was neat to be in a different church to see how things are done too. We really enjoyed ourselves. BUT, I was curious to see how OG would do in a totally new church in a totally new kids room. Luckily , another little girl of some friends of ours was in her same room, so they got to play together. When I left her there I asked her teacher if that was the room she would be staying in. She told me "yes, except when we have the palms". OK, I didn't know what that meant but oh well. I figured she was fine.

Well, not long after the service began, here came some cute kids down the aisle waving palm branches for Palm Sunday. We were singing and standing up and watching...and then who was to come alog but OG and her little friend down the aisle waving their palms so proudly...and also looking like deer in headlights. She had never been in a sanctuary before during a real service, so I am sure it was a bit overwhelming. It was cute though! I did not expect to see her there so what a nice surprise it was. They then took their palms to the alter, put them down then walked back down the aisle to the back while everyone else was still standing and singing. On her way back, she caught a glimpse of us in the pew...I thought she would want to come to us but she seemed content to go back to her class. It was so cute! I wish I had a camera to catch that on film! I found this pic on google...it looked SOMETHING like this:

My Mom called me today...telling me about the palms at our normal church and that the kids in the choir carried them down the aisle yesterday. She said OG can join the choir at 4 so I think we might try that when the new session starts up in the fall. We'll see how that goes!

shame on me...I spoke too soon...

We had dance last night...and OG was GREAT!!! Well, let me start by saying we got there RIGHT AT 6PM and I ran her into class in her Crocs...big mistake. I quickly realized she didn't have her ballet shoes on....well, by this time she didn't want her ballet shoes on. She wnated to dance in her Crocs. It was downhill from there...since we couldn't wear our Crocs, we didn't want to dance, and we wanted to go home....but nah-ah, THAT was not happening. Soooo, being the wonderful Mommy that I am.....I BRIBED her...with snacks and ice cream and TV afterwards if she went in. (I know I know, I am awful). BUT, after about 5 mins (and seeing that the girls in class were getting stamps in their hands) OG went in. And she did fine.

They practiced their ballet routine and she did well...then we were invited in to see their tap routine. UH OH, I was worried....I wished we hadn't been invited in. But this time the parents sat in front of the class, instead of in the back...so the kids now HAD to look forward and sort of pay attention. She did so well...I was so happy!!!!! I tried not to look at her the whole time and tried to focus my attention on some of the other kids here and there so as not to make her nervous. That worked! Then they got to show us their tumbling skills...that was a hoot. I was so glad I was there to see it all.

And yes, we DID get ice cream afterwards....and watched a little TV....and she is fine! I did not ruin my child!!!

Sassy Ballerina

I'm Baaaack! (sorry)

OK, so OG is doing soooo well in ballet (knock on wood). She goes every week and dances and has a great time. They are now working on her 2 routines for her recital in May. I love to watch her when she is really in tune to what they are learning that day...she seems so serious.

Last week they called us in to watch part of the routine they are learning. The teacher said they are more likely to all do it and watch & listen if they have an audience. Ummmm....NO, not the case w/ OG. Out of about 7 kids in class that day, 5 of them did the whole thing perfectly....one sat there and did nothing...and another (OG) stood in her spot and smiled at me and made silly faces and jumped up and down with excitement. OH well....we still have about 8 more weeks. LOL

Here are some recent pix of her after class....what a big girl! Ok, so NOW that I look at them they look a little, um "risque"....oh well...she's 3...she was just being silly.

Bad Bad Blogger!!!!

Sorry...I have been busy...I am trying to get all of OG's old clothes/shoes/toys together for a consignment sale at my church. Last year I bought about $90 worth of stuff but made $200 on the stuff I sold...not bad! I am up to my eyeballs in wire hangers (ick), tags, safety pins, etc...

I will get back to blogging maybe later this week. Check back after Wednesday AM. :)
