young love!

woah!!! This is OG and Baby Will (who is not really a baby anymore, he is almost 2, but he will always be Baby Will to us) at Music in the Park on Sunday. I think it is sweet now...but I think it will be scary in about 10 yrs.

Ignore the crazy town hair...they had been playing like wild children!

the shopping begins...

Just the tip of the iceberg. Some crayons, a few glue sticks, some safety scissors, clorox wipes and a new lunch box. Oh yeah, and some too cute back to school clothes & shoes! Thanks Tar-Jay!

and the mental break downs begin...

I have felt it coming on for a while. I knew it was just around the corner. But yesterday was the true breaking point. There have been signs all along, about what was looming around the corner. But the REAL OFFICIAL sign (that was actually a PHYSICAL SIGN) was what got me yesterday.

I arrived at OG's school for pick up. On the bulletin board outside of her room was a note about kids graduating. Asking parents of graduates to list their childs new school and asking if they will be attending graduation (well DUH, I would hope everyone would attend. What GOOD parent would not!!??). Apparently the sign had just been hung, and I was the first person to sign up.

As the memories of her 4 yrs at this wonderful school began to flow through my mind, I teared up, got emotional and began to cry. (I even called MNM's Mom and had a breakdown on the phone with her. Thank you MNM's Mom for helping me through that!!) HOW can my baby be about to start kindergarten? I know I know...everyone says "where did the time go?". But really...where??!! It does seem like just yesterday that when she first started attending her school she would cry everyday...EVERYDAY...when I left. Sobbing tears. And would cry for part of the AM until she settled down. It seems like last week that she began getting "oops, I've been bitten" notes on her cubbie. It seems like yesterday that she started bringing home her first "artwork" (actually just a mess of paint and crayons) that was proudly displayed on the fridge.

Those days are almost over now. We have 4 weeks and 2 days until she leaves the only school friends she has ever know...and begins a new adventure into her next 13 years of education. With fun times, mean girls, mean boys, field trips, crushes, new experiences, disappointments. Kids can be cruel...and it hurts my heart to know she will have to go though all these things. I am crying right now even thinking about it. But we will be there for her and TRY our best to help her understand and realize that she will get through it.

Oh, The Places You Will go baby girl!!! But in the meantime...Momma's got some shopping to do!!! YIKES.

July 4th = Good times!

Seven hours at the pool on the 4th makes for a FUN and exhausting day! Then we had dinner at the club, stopped by the hospital to see our neighbors new baby and got home at 7...after a bath and some meltdown drama, OG was in bed by 7:25...asleep by 7:30. No fireworks for us!

Whit's 4th Birthday party!

Whit celebrtaed her 4th birthday a few weeks ago (YES, I am behind!). It was a princess themed party, so everyone came dressed as a princess. FUN! There were mani's, pedi's, games and an un-breakable pinata! LOL
It was a great party!

Happy Birthday Whit!
