Baby it's COLD outside!

Can I just say BRRRRR!!!!???? It was freezing this morning! OMG! It's mornings like these that I don't like being in NC! Per our car it said it was 19 degrees outside. Per the weather it said about 17. Either way, that is COLD!

Once again OG had to bundle up in a hat and mittens...she did not like the mittens but had to wear them anyway! She tried to take them off, but without loose fingers to do so, that became a bit of a task and she got grumpy. So I turned on her CD with Wheels on the Bus on it to get her mind off of it. It worked!!

I think the HIGH today is 32, which is not too bad I guess. 32 will feel like 75 compared to this morning!

More Free Housekeeping!

OG is REALLy the domestic diva...here she is over the weekend vacuuming with me! Yes, we are still in our PJ's but hey, it was the weekend! She used to be scared of the vacuum and would have to climb up in a big chair when I did the area rug in our den. Now she will stand right along beside me and go at it! VERY FUNNY! The dog?? He still doesn't like it...especially now that we double team him.

We have snow!!!

Not a lot of snow, but a little. We still had work and school (POO) but it was nice to see. It staretd a little before 7am and just finished up a few minutes ago around 10am EST. OG enjoyed seeing it and kept talking about wanting to go out and see it as she ate her breakfast (she ate it all I might add in her anticipation...it needs to snow more often).

She liked being out in it as we got in and out of the car this morning. We tried to get her to eat it but she was scared too...funny! I also took some pix of the snow on my drive to work...yeah, I kjnow, not exactly a wise idea while I am driving in snowy conditions, but I was going slow and no one was around.

Crazy Skys!

Check out these pix of what the sky looked like as I drove OG to school and myself to work on Monday (maybe it was Tuesday). It was 7:30 am and the sun is usually mostly up, but LOOK at these crazy skys! It was dark and ominous. A few minutes later the skys were normal, but THESE skys were scary! In the 3rd & 4th pix, you see the real dark sky and then JUST below it is a strip of lighter sky that is light blue and normal.

It is supposed to maybe snow a little tomorrow...we are also supposed to get some freezing rain. OH JOY! I would LOVE a day off work because of snow...but an ICE day? Those aren't fun. OG has not seen a real snow since she has been born. There was a day of some snow her first winter (but it came and went), and a day last year with some flurrries that were gone from the grass by 10am...but that is it. And it isn't really supposed to start until 9am or later after we are already gone from home. POO! I want OG to see some snow this year people! I want snowmen and snow boots snow! Like we used to get and were out of school for 2 weeks!!! We will do the snow dance tonight!!

Hot fun in the WINTERTIME????

The weather this past weekend was so nice! It was like SUMMER in NC! The highs were in the low to mid 70’s and it was great. You could walk around in short sleeves and wear shorts and feel fine. How nice! Yesterday the high was about 72. Today it is low 40’s. YIKES! Crazy how weather can change that quickly. OG found a cute little umbrella in her room (that is more for decoration than keeping you dry) and decided to play with it outside. It was funny.








Anyway, with the nice weather we were able to get out and about on Saturday & Sunday. We went back to the park with the cool fountains downtown, and were able to play in our yard a bit. OG had a fun time. It was a nice change from trying to entertain a child indoors all weekend!!

Weekend!

It is FRIDAY! Finally! My first full week back at work since the holidays has been a long one! I am tired and have been super busy. So of course I have taken no OG pix (except for the dentist ones). I am sorry! I promise to start to TRY to be better. I have a feeling with putting our house on the market in March and plannig a move and everything, I am going to be a little distracted. Sorry in advance! Have a great weekend!!!!

The Dentist!

OG went to the dentist today for the first time. I had been talking it up last night and this morning and she seemed excited to go. When we arrived they had a great waiting area where you could watch TV and play. She had a good time and kept yelling out "I am at the dentist...she will look in my mouth." It was pretty funny.

When they called our name after only a short while of waiting, we got to go to the back. First, OG got to pick out a toothbrush, then she was escorted to her chair. She climbed right up. The hygenist was so sweet and so great with OG. She talked her through everything that was happeneing. OG wasn't too sure about the moving chair when it went back, but she got used to it. The hygenist brushed her teeth and OG didn't seem to mind...she always has a fit for us, but she just sat there. She then used the little sucker thing and OG liked that. She even let OG hold it for her so OG "helped" her out and she thought that was cool. They then went on to polish her teeth, and I thought that noise would freak OG out but she was just fine! They told her they were going to "tickle her teeth" and she thought that was funny.

After that, they said she was so well behaved that they were going to try x-rays on just the front teeth. Again, she sat there and was so good...she held the little film in her mouth and I was so proud.

We got to take a polaroid pic in the chir with a stuffed animal and then go play till we saw the dentist. When the dentist came (a friend of mine from high school), OG had to get back in the chair. She let the dentist look in her mouth and all was well. No cavities!!! They did say she had a petite mouth and her incisors were small...but other than that she should be OK. As she gets older they will just keep a check on crowding in her mouth. Back in 6 months!

I was so happy at the end...so proud of her for being so sweet and good! My little girl is growing up!!!

Domestic Diva

OG really got a lot of great stuff this year for Christmas (Thanks Everyone!!). Wayyyy tooo much stuff if you ask me, but she LOVES it all!! There seemed to be a little bit of a theme to this years Christmas...OG has now become the Queen of Domesticity! Much of what she received went along with the household items/shopping theme: a kitchen, pots, pans, utensils, food, groceries, cash register, mop, broom, dust pan, iron & ironing board, etc. CRAZY! But she has so much fun with it!

If I thought her playroom was loaded down before, then when we returned from the holidays it was filled to the max! So of course I needed to weed out. Stuff that she had not played with in a year was donated or thrown out. If I had sentimental attachments to it, then it got to stay, but it was put away elsewhere. Now we have room for her new stuff. And even with the new stuff , some stuff needs to go elsewhere or be hidden.

As you may know, we are selling our house (HOPEFULLY, please send good house selling vibes) in the late spring. Our realtor who we used to buy our current house, is coming by next Tuesday to talk shop. I have also asked her to BE HONEST and tell us what we needed to do around the house as for "staging", removing, de-cluttering. But of course before she comes, I want everything to look great...so after watcing about 6 episodes of SELL THIS HOUSE on tv, I decided to do a lot of it before she came...just so she will tell us our house is GREAT and FABULOUS and WILL SELL IN 2 DAYS...lol. Actually, if it sells in 2 days I will have a heartattack. We won't be ready to move till May at the earliest, so that would throw a wrench in things. I guess if it does sell before we are ready, we will move in with the local in-laws!! (PAUSE for a gasp as they read this...)

SO anyway...here are some pix of OG and her domestic side...I know my realtor will tell me to remove the easel and the ABC padding from the floor and that is fine...but I still think it is a cute room.
