HARK! The Herald Angels Sing

We went again this year to Breakfast With Mary & Joseph at our church. Same as with last year, OG was not hip to posing with them...so we did our own little photo shoot over to the side of the stage. Everyone who works at the church kept urging her to take pix with Mary & Joseph but OG was not interested...PLUS, we didn't want THEM in our cute photos we were trying to take for the Christmas cards! ha But we decided not to use these shots for our cards and opted for another kind of photo. Cards go out today (VERY VERY late this year)...so if you are on our normal list you will get it either Wed, Thurs or Fri (or even Sat if you are far far away).

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Letter to Santa

OG did her letter to Santa the other day. We got a pre-done one where you just fill in the blanks. If she had her choice her wants would be: chocolate, candy canes and oh yeah, a baby doll...but we managed to drag some REAL wants out of her. She even signed her name...you can't tell, but she wrote out each letter!!! She's our big girl!

Then we put it in the mail for Santa...hope he gets it!!!

Away in a Manger...

...No crib for....AN ICE CREAM CONE???!!???

It looks as if Baby Jesus has had to step aside for everyone to honor the Ice Cream Cone this holiday season. At least that is what OG thinks. I came downstairs the other day to find that our manger scene had been re-arranged. Well, at least she is playing with it. Instead of the wise men bringing Frankincense and Myrrh, maybe they should offer Jimmies and heath bar crumbles.

OG had a photo shoot on Saturday...she was shy at first...but she ended up doing well. We got some good shots, and some not so good shots. Here are a few... CUTE!

Merry What???

Conversation between OG & Me while Hubbie is videotaping:

Me: OG, isn’t this fun decorating the tree for Christmas?
OG: I love these ornaments…I want to hang some more.
Me: OK, hang some more so Daddy can videotape it…talk to Daddy..what do you say to everyone?
OG: HI
ME: ha…yeah, but what else do you say to everyone…Merry what?
OG: Mary Poppins!

Merry Christmas, Mary Poppins…same thing. HA

Winery Fun

Ok, so this post has nothing to do with OG...well, wait...hubbie & I have something to do with OG...and we have friends whose kids are friends with OG...so Iguess, in a round about way, this post DOES have something do do with OG. So here we go...

Last weekend we made our way to Childress Vineyards in Lexington, about 45 mins away from our house. We went with some couples from one of the supper clubs we are in. It ended up being a small crowd b/c this and that came up, but we had a great time.

ok, so I have to say this...it looks like I have a hug prego belly here...but if you look closely, that is my purse behind me between me and AK, not my belly touching her shirt...you know me, if something isn't right, I want to point it out to you so you know that I know that you will see it, ha. Note to self: don't carry dark bags with dark shirts..it makes your belly look big(er than it is).

Ok, so this is better...you can now see that it WASN'T my belly afterall....thank goodness!

This photo was taken right before AK (WK's Mommy) decided to break a wine glass, totally by accident of course. ;) CRAZY GIRL Last time she was at a winery with MOI in Napa Valley, she had an "intersting expreience". Let's just leave it at that or she might get mad. :) Anotehr note to self: keep AK away from wineries. ;)

We had our own personal tour of the beautiful grounds and the inside of the winery...and we had our own personal wine tasting in the "wine cave". We didn't have to do our tasting at the commoners bar upstairs with the rif-raf. HA. It was so cool. The "Cave" was like we were in some medieval basement of some sorts. Big oak table, big chairs, big barrels full of wine. What could be better!

We got to sample a bunch of different wines, so that was fun....until we woke up the next AM. NOT SO FUN!

Something to be thankful for...

OG had a take-home project for school this week that was due today. As with all good school projects, and as most parents & kids do...her's was worked on last night, at the last minute. HA

She received a "feather" cut out of poster board about 12-14" long...she was to take et home and decorate it. the feather would be added to big turkey's body in the classroom, along with all of her other 19 classmates feathers. She was to decorate it and make it about things she was thankful for.

When we asked OG what she was thankful for (rather than just doing her project for her and letting her turn it in, AHHH Good Parents) she thought about it for a minute...then she decided she was thankful for mac n cheese and candy and Halloween. OOOKKAAAYYY...not exactly what I was getting at but it was a start. Then we asked her "what about family & friends & your home and food, etc". She agreed she was thankfulf or those. Then we asked what else she was thankful for...figuring we had given her more of an idea to work with:

The list is as follows:

mac n cheese (again)

candy (again)

hamburgers

cheetos

fruit

Diego (Dora's cousin)

snacks

chocolate milk

her geet geet (blanket)

pineapple

Wonder Pets (a show on Noggin)

OK, so maybe we need to work on this a little....also maybe she needs a little less TV and junk food, and more VEGGIES. Couldn't she have at least said she was thankful for squash??!!??

PS. I saw a few other feathers this AM...one was the poster baord feather covered in, well, FEATHERS. So that kid was thankful for what???...Feathers?
Another was covered in glitter and said" I am thankful for glittery things". I thought that was cute...the kid really really put what THEY were thankfulf for...Not what the parents THOUGHT they should be thankful for. OH well, I am a controlling mom...I didn't want her's to say "I am thankful for mac n cheese & Diego". Maybe next year!

GO Hoos GO!

Since our Wahoos/Cavaliers/Hoos are doing so well this year I thought we needed to do a shout out for them!

Here are two of the biggest HOOS fans...OG & Daddy all decked out in their finest UVA tie-dye and school colors! OG even knows THE GOOD OLE' SONG (UVA's song) by heart! Not bad!

Quesadillas & Bloody Noses

One of my oldest friends (SHE is not old, she is just a friend I have had a long time, 16 yrs to be exact) was in town last week. Her family, who is overseas for her husbands work, flew into town for her husband’s brother’s wedding (wheew). It was so great to see her & hubbie & her kids!! Owen & Caroline are so big. OG loved being around them. Caroline is 6 mths older than OG…Owen & OG are 3 yrs apart exactly! They were born on the same day! How cool!

I picked them and ALL of their stuff (2 huge suitcases, a couple of tote bags/carry-on’s, a few rolling luggages and 2 carseats) up at the airport. MY hubbie got OG at school and met us at the restaurant. We went to Mexican and had a great time…aside from a little blood (the 2 girls bonked heads and a bloody nose appeared while they played in the courtyard) all was great. Aside from seeing them last year around Thanksgiving, the last time I saw Ilaria was about 4 years before that. Now I have seen her TWICE in less than 12 months. YEAH!

I love getting together with good friends…even if it IS only for a few hours. And the kids are cute together. I think OG & Caroline look like sisters. :)

TRUNK r Treat...

My trunk! (It looked MUCH better in person, in fact I would say it was in the top 2 of 10 cars!! MM's Mom's car and ours were the best...or at least "I" think so.)

A POST Halloween Post!

I've got mtgs and other things going on...but I wanted to share some pix! :)

HALLOWEEN...What a fun time!

WOW, Halloween 2007 was so much fun!

Trunk or Treat at school went well...I have to say that M.M.'s Mom & I redeemed oursleves this year with our car decorations. Next year we will do better and go all out, but this year was MUCH better than last.

The party at school was a ton of fun...lots of sweets and goodies and fun for parents & kids.

And trick or treating in our hood was so exciting! We went out about 6:50 and there were swarms of kids everywhere...like nothing I have ever seen. groups of 10, 20, 5, 8....crazy! My Mom who normally gets maybe 2 kids at her house, came to help hand out the goodies while we were gone...she went through two hug bags of candy and then some. Our neighborhood was NUTS but I loved it. So nice to be in a kid/family friendly neighborhood for once. :)

One kid around 8:15 asked to use our phone so he could "call mom to see where she was at"...I vetoed that one. Andy said we should have let them use the cordless, but I nixed it. I was all for giving away my candy but I advised him to ask someone else for phone services. Am I mean? oh well. I did fear later though that he would return to egg my house.

I will have pix tomorrow! OG was pretty cute! She got lots of attention. :) She already said she wants to be Ariel next year.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

We'll post pix over the next few days!!!! We've got Trunk or Treat at OG's school in one hour...a party at school after that...then neighborhood trick or treating. Should be a busy night!

Ignore my dying mum, I have since gotten a beautiful one to replace it. The heat just KILLEd this one.

Fun at the Fair!

We went on our annual visit to the Dixie Classic Fair a few weeks ago. THIS year was lots of fun...OG was FINALLY big enought to ride rides by herself!! It was so neat. Because I am a dork, I cried when she rode her first ride, the mini firetrucks. And in typical OG fashion now adays, she had her tongue sticking out as she does when she is shy/nervous etc. Still cute!

Oh yeah, and we ate our "fair" share of junk!! Corn on the cobb DIPPED (ha) in butter....peanuts, cotton candy, hamburgers, hot dogs, etc.

Oh, and I went to one of those guys who guesses your age, weight etc. I was trying to be slick so I told hubbie & OG to go elsewhere...I took my rings & jewelry off...took my "mommy" cardigan sweater off and tried to act all shy...when he guessed my age, he guessed 35!!! UGH! what's up with that! One year off. Hubbie thought it was HILARIOUS! I guess I don't look as young as I think/feel I do! OH WELL.

I've got gadgets & gizmos aplenty...I've got photos & pictures galore....

PPFFT!!! Is this thing on??!!
Have I lost all of my readers????

Since my Dad has told me that 3.5 wks of NON-BLOGGING was pushing it, I decided I better get on it. I have TONS of pix to share...but I have decided to spread the wealth around....that way I can at least post a few times this week and still have more to spare. :)

Sooooo, without further aadooooooooo....I present to you our pix from TWEETSIE! Yes, we were there 2 weeks ago...but the memories are still fresh in our mind. It was lost fo fun and OG already wants to go back. W e are thinking of season passes for next year.
Panning for gold!!

BFF's!!

Here's OG with one of her BFF's, W.K. last night! We love W.K.. She is one year younger than OG, but they get along and play so well together. :) They ran around and played together all night, while the adults hung out and ate dinner...and um, supervised...yeah, we watched them all night long. What kind of people do you think we are??!!

This outta hold you for a few days...

OK, settle down...you know who you are...the ones who are screaming at me for more LWOG pix. WELL, I lost the cord for my camera AGAIN...it is somewhere in a summer purse or who knows where. I will look for it this wknd. I have a TON of pix on my camera but can't get them off of there. OOPS.

ANYHOO...a few weeks ago we went to the annual NICU Reunion held at Women's Hopsital (where OG lived for 8.5 weeks after she was born). It was lots of fun. This was our 3rd year and we had a blast. Of course Daddy was not there again (b/c of a UVA football game that he had to be at to tailgate, and oh yeah, attend the game). But it was still a good time.

OG's friend from school MM, was there...she was not a long term NICU baby, but she was in there maybe a day or so...so that qualifies her as a NICU Graduate. So we got to play with her and have a good time! :) Ponies to ride, food to eat, crafts to work on, bubbles, etc. Good Times!
