HAPPY NEW YEAR...it ain't what it used to be!!!!

Here I sit on New Years Eve doing what??? Partying? Hanging out with Friends? Hitting to town? No...here I sit updating my blog! How pitiful is THAT??? If someone had told me six years ago I would be doing THIS on NYE of 2006/2007 then would have laughed in their face! Now I am only laughing because it is past my bedtime and I am delirious and I feel I HAVE to stay up because it IS NYE after all! LOL We DID hang out with 2 other couples earlier tonight and all the kids played, and we had an awesome dinner and good beverages and that was fun, but we were home by 8:15. LOSERS!!!! ;)

OG is in bed, and hubbie is camped out on the couch...I wouldn't have it any other way...I want to be surrounded by my loves!!!!

Just went in to check on OG...here is what I found!!
Looks like SHE has been out on the town having a few too many!!! Almost like she was trying to get out of bed and fell asleep. Speaking of sleep...I am heading that way!

Christmas in Florida

It took me FOREVER to get a cute pic or two of OG for the Christmas cards...then while we are in FL we got THESE on my Dads front porch in a matter of 2 minutes! DARN! TOO CUTE! 20 days too late! Maybe we can use them for NEXT YEARS cards! LOL

Greetings from the Princess

We are back! After 10 days away from work, and one more left (where does the time go?!?) we are back home and settled in for a while. We have stayed at 5 different residences and stopped in 3 states in about 9 days and we are POOPED. We had a great time and our Christmas was wonderful and filled with fun family times, but it is always nice to be home and settled once you are done with everything.

And of COURSE...one of the higlights of our whole Christmas was lunch with the Princesses at Norway in Epcot. How great it was!!!! OG got to meet some great princesses (& wanna be princesses) at lunch and it was really neat. Of course OG was decked out in her best princess finery...she was the most beautiful princess of them all if I do say so myself!! ;)

As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by Aurora or Sleeping Beauty as she is better known. I thought OG would flip out and fuss and be scared but she wasn't. She just took Aurora's hand and walked with her and it was the CUTEST thing ever. Then they chatted a while (or more Aurora chatted) and Aurora signed OG's autograph book and hugged her etc. OG seemed mesmerized! It was so neat.

And BELIEVE it or NOT Cinderelle was MIA!! What is up with that?!? I guess we will have to wait to see her when we go down again in May or so. We will have to do the breakfast with the princesses at the Castle then. YEAH!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas is only 3 full days away and I can't wait!!! OG is excited about Christmas this year and that is so fun for us! We leave tomorrow around 7am for our trip to Florida. If traffic and weather cooperate (it is supposed to rain, ugh) it should take us just under 9 hours. Keep your fingers crossed! We will be spending time with family and we will be having Lunch with the Princesses at EPCOT on Saturday. Now THAT should be fun. We will return home to NC on Wednesday.

"Away in a manger..."

I told you all last week that we were doing breakfast with Mary and Joseph on Saturday at our church. Well, we went and arrived at 9am with our canned good donations in hand.


After we munched on juice, donut holes and mini biscuits, we prepared to don our best "Bethlehem" attire. We dressed OG as a shephard and she liked it at first...until she realized she was going on stage by herself with Mary & Joseph.




Since that didn't work out, MiMa and Poppi dress up also...NOPE...she didn't like that either. So now you see where I am going...Mommy & Daddy then had to dress up. It was pretty funny...here we are, all up on the stage (oh yeah, and we booted Mary & Joseph off so it was just us) while a line of kids, and kids only is forming. No other adults but US were dressed up. Kind of embarassing and kind of neat. Maybe this will be our Christmas card NEXT year. LOL


Afterwards we got OG to try on the angel outfit...so cute!!! She wasn't thrilled and was ready to go at this time...but it was fun all the same.

HAIR today, gone tomorrow...

OG had her first haircut on Saturday! Our little girl is growing up. I cried. Hubbie thought it was funny.

OG & I both had our hair done that day. While my color was processing (we went to the same person), OG had hers cut. I was a little stressed about it ahead of time thinking she might have a meltdown and would be crying uncontrollably. Instead she was the exact opposite...she got in the chair no problem, and did not make a peep. She sat there with eyes though like those of a deer in headlights. It was cute. She didn't smile, frown, laugh or talk...she was emotionless. Kind if funny to watch. Take a peek at the pix to see what I mean.








So now my baby girls baby curls are sort of gone...but that is fine...she had long curls that were getting a bit frizzy and uncontrollable. Now she has shorter more bob like curls that are cute and sassy. I can live with that! Just in case I can't, I have her old curls saved in a baggie. :) I can take them out and look at them anytime.

Diva Dress -Up

It's FRIDAY again! Only 9 more full days until Christmas! HOORAY! I didn't take too many pictures this week b/c I was having the crisis of trying to get my cards out...which I finally did get out on Thursday! I got out 100 (wheeewh)I have 20 left that still need to go...I ran out of envelopes and stamps as I was addressing, so those should go out this wknd! If you are a "V", "W" or "Z" last name and don't have one yet, that is why. I worked my way from A-Z addressing them in that order. And wouldn't ya know it...I sent one to CA from us in NC, and on that same day I receieved a change of address in the mail from those folks that they had moved to GA! GREAT. Their card will take 8 yrs to get to them after it is forwarded (IF they forwarded their mail)!

Anyway, have a great weekend! We are off to "Breakfast with Mary & Joseph" at our church tomorrow morning...I am interested to see how that goes. Apparently the young ones get to dress up in period costumes. I will surely take pix of that!

150 posts! (or 21.4 posts in dog years)

Wow, its seems like just yesterday I began this little adventure of "Life with OG" and now we are already at 150 posts! Less than 12 months ago I was beginning my first post with:
TEST, test, test...I am obsessed with blogs and accidentally (HA) created a blog of my own. This is ADDICTIVE and I am sure I will not get much work done now! Ha.

Blogging has been time consuming...but luckily (as I predicted above) it was time during the day (on official breaks of course) and not time away from family. I couldn't do it during family time or I wouldn't have anything to write about. HA Just a few months ago we celebrated 100 posts, and in Januray it will be LWOG's 1 year "blogaversary"! Thanks for reading and I hope you are enjoying this as much as I am. OG loves it for sure...who wouldn't love getting their picture taken on almost a daily basis!?! ;)

Attention Shoppers!!

On Sunday we made our weekly trip to the grocery store. They recently built a newer Harris Teeter near our house and tore down the old one (that was only about 11 yrs old). This new one is apparently the largest one in the state and is CRAZY BIG!! Their pastry & cheese shops are amazing! And they have a great organic section.

This new store has mini shopping carts for kids that we let OG try out. She had fun pushing her cart around...untill lher brand new shoes gave her a blister...then she wanted to push it around with no shoes on. Well of course that was not allowed so she had a meltdown when we put her in the cart. I only wish I had a pic of that!! You could hear her all over the store. To save time I ran off to gather some other things and could hear her in the dairy section when she was still in meats! HA
