out in the great wide open

OG went to a party a few weeks ago (can you tell I am behind on my updating?). It was a party not too far from us but in the country (although we do not live in the country we are def in the suburbs...even though AK would beg to differ, whatever, SHUSH AK, b/c I know you are reading this!!).

So this party was hayrides & pony rides for OG's little friend LM who turned 5. Lots of fun had by all! That's all I am going to say...just enjoy the pix and you will seee.

Hoochie Princess Fun with Friends

We had some friends over last weekened to watch a game...OG & WK got to play together and had a fun time changing in and out of princess dresses! They wore me out just watching them. WK (in these pix) is sporting Aurora with a random set of fairy wings....OG is sporting the Belle winter ensemble...with a little bit of hoochi'ness thrown in by having the blouse part be a Belly Top! LOL NICE!

A Beautiful Fall in NC

For those of you who don't live where the leaves change each fall, you are missin' out!! We have it made here from early Oct - the 1st week or so in Nov. It is beautiful! From year to year you never know when it will be PEAK week where the leaves are at their most vibrant and have not started to officially fall off the trees yet. It was peak here maybe last week I would say. And it was beautiful. I kept meaning to take some good pix and I forgot...and I would always think of it while riding in my car. I knew I had to have SOME pix. So VOILA...here are my
ridingdowntheroadtakingpix pix. I KNOW...not a good or safe idea...especially when a cop pulls up beside you...OOPS! But here they are....this is not a good representation, but at least you get the idea.

And as we say in the south "Happy Fall Ya'll"!

Violin Classes Begin...

OG had her first violin lesson last night. She was excited and was looking forward to it. We were scheduled to start at 5:30 but they were running late. We didn’t get in there till about 5:50. Luckily there were books and puzzles etc in the lobby to keep kids entertained. Wheewh!!When we went in we met Ms. Kellie. OG got “fitted” for her violin and got a 1/10 size whatever that means. Basically I think it means TEENIE TINY and OH SO CUTE I CAN’T STAND IT!!
So after she found a violin perfect for her size, Ms. Kellie taught OG her standing positions…resting (feet together) and playing (feet about shoulder width apart). And then we traced both of those positions and her feet onto a little foam pad to take home so she can remember and practice her positions. She was also showed how to hold the violin in resting position (at your side under your right arm) and playing position (just off our shoulder under your jaw). Wheehw! That was a lot to remember in just a short time. She showed her how to pluck the A & E strings. Showed her how to hold her hand on the violin. We didn’t use a bow (rhymes with “show”) last night…we will get to that eventually. Showed her how to bow (rhymes with “how”) at the beginning and end of a performance (OG didn’t want to do this, she thought it was embarrassing, so we need to work on that part at home). Showed her how to switch the violin from resting to playing position (this was a little confusing).
We went over so many things…and we have a sheet of about 7 things to practice 5 nights a week!!!! YIKES! It was confusing to ME, so I KNOW OG was overwhelmed. But she said she enjoyed it. Now when we got home she wanted to show Daddy SOO BADLY! She was so anxious and just wanted to play with it…did not want to hold it correctly or pluck correctly. So this should be interesting. I can see some bribing in my future!!! lol

They mentioned a practice concert she can participate in on Sat at 10am!!! What? A concert? After one not so official lesson? They did say it was basically a group practice with kids her age…1 had just joined last night as she did, and a few had already had 5 or 6 lessons. But basically they were all beginners. So we’ll see….they said it would be good for her to go see others in action….but I also don’t want her to feel like she does not know what she is doing. I mentioned it to her and she said she wanted to go but not be up there by herself. And I told her she most definitely would NOT be alone. There is also a big bday party Sat at 10am…so we would have top miss part of that. And in the 1st part of the party is when the bouncing (same bouncy place where she had her bdays) comes into play. So we need to make some decisions.
So…we might have a great musician on our hands!!! We’ll let you know how it goes form here!

But isn’t she cute!!??

Did YOU get Boo'ed??

BOY, am I behind on posts or WHAT? We have had family in town for the past 11 days so we have been on the move....family pix....events...parties....races....eating out...lots of fun stuff. So I am little behind on posting some events of the past week. Too bad...you get it LATE after the holiday is over.

So we got Boo'ed last week. I had already bought my boo stuff and planned on boo'ing the neighbors and just got caught up in everything else and never did it. And for those of you that don't know what booing is, here is the scoop: You get a little bag or container or whatever of Halloween goodies, trinkets, candy, toys whatever (can be all $1 store stuff or nicer) and make a few boo "kits" for your neighbors and friends. You sneak it to their front porch and leave it there as a surprise along with a little note about BOO'ing and what they need to do (make 2-5 copies of this boo letter and put it along with goodies on another friends porch etc). You also give them a sign for the front door that says BOO. They put that sign on their door so everyone else knows they have been boo'ed. You can only be boo'ed once.

Pix of us getting boo'ed:

So we got boo'ed and got some good stuff....after we got our BOO I remembered I hadn't done our boo'ing. OOPS! So luckily the neighbors on both sides of us hadn't been boo'ed yet either...so hubbie & OG boo'ed them while I was out of town last Thursday night. He said she had so much fun sneaking from door to door. I WISH I had seen it. And of course there are no pix!

Fall/Halloween Decor

I KNOW Halloween is over but I just wanted to share SOME of our fall/Halloween decor with you (a little late I know, sorry). Halloween stuff came down this wknd but the FALL stuff is still out. AND I went to Tarjay yesterday and got some fall clearance stuff so some new fall stuff has been added. LOL And now that I look at the pix I uploaded, it is mostly pumpkins...I need to take some more pix b/c we do have some good fall stuff out. The mantle is cute in person with the fall swag, you can get a sort of idea of it by the pic below.

25 more days till we get our tree and I start decorating for CHRISTMAS!! woo
