I am sure most of you have seen these pix on FB...but if you haven't you can see them for the 1st time here! We went (sans OG) to the Steeplechase last wknd with some of our BFF's. It was a blast! We had primo "seats"...a bus that took us to and from...awesome food and bev's...and we won about $360! woo And of course the people watching and big hats were a plus too! ;) You NEVER know what you are gonna see at a horse race. And if my camera had not died, I could have taken some pix of some crazy outfits!

I have no words...

More Spirit Week...PJ day & Bring Your Bike to School Day

Thurs was PJ day at OG's school. It was especially fun in the 4 yr old class. They not only got to wear PJ's but they ordered pizza for lunch...and got to skip their nap!! They watched some new version of Peter Pan instead (since it is PG the parents had to sign permission slips), ate popcron and brought in their sleeping bags/pillows etc and cuddled up and had a slumber party while watching! FUN FUN! I think not having a nap wore her out...she went right to bed at bedtime and was snoring! And YES, I LOVE that at almost 5, my daugther STILL naps 2-3 hrs a day! All that is gonna change though when kindergarten rolls around...she will have a hard time!

Today was color day for your age group/class...the pre k class was to wear green. I actually forgot that it was color day b/c I was so focused on getting her bike and its accessories to school...but I managed to dress her in an olive green skirt by accident, so that will have to do.

But the main thing today for her room was "bring your bike". They are apparently going to rope off the parking lot and have little bike races on their bikes/scooters etc. That will be neat! I hope the teacher takes pix!

And I was a bad Mom...I forgot to bring something for Show n Share. The letter of the week was P but the board said "bring one of your favorite toys". I didn't notice it until I was leaving the classroom this AM...Daddy picked her up last night so I never saw it. So as I was leaving I went back in and told her that her bike would be her Show n Share. She promptly told me that would NOT do b/c it did not start w/ P...I told her I thought today was just about your fave toy and it did not have to start w/ P. I don't think she was happy about that but it she will get over it.

Spirit Week...

We have been having spirit week at OG's school. It is always a fun time b/c they have neat and fun days for the kids. OG loves the fact that we can be silly and different this week...and I love helping her do it.

Monday was HAT DAY. She INSISTED on wearing her princess crowns but I managed to coax her into a real hat. We wore the Minnie hat that ties in the back. So cute!!

Tuesday was Bring Your Favorite Book day. THAT was a challenge b/c there are a ton of books that OG loves. We setteled on Just Me and My Dad. Apparently the teacher was going to read all of the books that all of the kids brought in that day. Wheewh! And I get tired just after reading ONE book. LOL

TODAY was my fave day of the week...Wacky Tacky Day. OG was DEFINITELY fitting in with the theme today. Every year when they do this I try to make her extra crazy. I want her to represent. And I think she met that goal today!! When we got to school there was a LITTLE bit of mis-matching going on, but not too much...so I was glad we were busting out and doing it full force. Can't wait to see what the other kids show up in b/c I know they do some crazy stuff. :)

Baseball Fun

The weekend before last we went to a basball game with friends...FUN!
Before the game we got to see Babe Ruth...the honorary (not the OFFICIAL) mascot of the team. She is actually the General Manager's dog that has been professionally trained to go get the bats after each of the players hits. It is really cute..she runs out...scoops them up in her mouth...sometimes takes a pee (which brings roars of laughter & cheers from the fans) then takes the bats back to the dugout. It is cute. So anyway, the General Manager of the Grasshoppers lives across the street from my Mom. So when we were there hunting eggs in her yard (it was Easter Sunday), Babe & her baby brother Yogi (Berra, lol), who is also in the midst of bat training (but not doing so hot) were getting loaded up into the car to head out early to the game later that afternoon. So we got a chance to hug on them and say hi to them in the street before they left.

So then later that day, after a nap we were on our way to the game. These friends who invited us had a nice suite through work with free snacks and sofas and comfy chairs...and we even had our own little tiered viewing area. SWEET!

There were about 10 families there and about 20+ kids there. It was nutso!! But it was fun. And of course OG didn't want to see the grasshopper mascot dude (which BTW, looks NOTHING like a grasshopper anymore since they changed the costume). Last year at a game the grasshopper came into the suite we were in and OG was near the door...as he opened the door, it opened onto OG's toes and gashed them up real good. Hence, her not liking the mascot. She still remembers that...the wounds (in her mind at least) are still fresh.
Look at that GIANT bowl of popcorn that dude is carrying in...SOON it would be all over the floor. LOL

See, I told you...ALL over the floor. This pic does not do it justice.
The game was so fun...we can't wait to go back later in the spring. GO GRASSHOPPERS!

We have a soccer star...or maybe a STARLET, on our hands!

What? You didn't know OG was starting soccer? Probably b/c I did not tell many people...for fear she would freak out and drop out and not want to do it. And I was sure she was going to when last week she told me she did not want anyone watching her play and wanted us to not cheer for her. UH OH! BUT, we had our 1st practice on Friday for the 3-4 yr old team and our 1st game on Saturday! It was great and she did so well. We have another game tonight that was supposed to have been our original 1st game a week ago, but that 1st practice and game got rained out. We have about 7 wks of games and think she is going to do well. She really went after the ball, didn't cling to us like I feared and didn't try to stand on the sidelines!!
1st Practice, Friday:

I told her to practice her pose for her team/individual photos.
"How about THIS?" she said.... LOL!!

"Or This?"

We've created a monster...Miss Diva!

Pre-Practice practice in the yard.

SOO EXCITED!

After some drills in their uniforms, they played shirts/"skins".

"Hey Momma! I'm the goalie!"

I am PRETTY sure the goalie is not supposed to act like this!

Of course you have to find time for your favorite Karate Kid moves!

Look at that stride!!

Game 1, Saturday:

HUSTLE!!

Where did the ball go?

The Lions!

WK & OG ... GO LIONS!

Proud Family!!

That's my girl...ever present hair-bow and all! :)
