Take me out to the ballgame...

A hot dog at the ballgame beats roast beef at the Ritz. ~Humphrey Bogart

OG attended her first baseball game last weekend at the new Grasshoppers stadium downtown. It was raining earlier in the day and we almost didn’t go, but after dinner with friends, we decided the weather would hold off. So at 8:00pm (30 minutes past OG’s bedtime mind you) off we went to the game. Once we got there she wanted to run around and not be in our arms. She had been down for about 1 minute and was 2 feet in front of me when a fan walked right into her and knocked her down on her bottom and she SLOWLY fell back onto her head…OH NO! The guy who ran into her felt so bad but OG was ok…so from then on no running around for her. She was not happy about that.

So we went over to the playground area…what a mess that was…there were kids EVERYWHERE! BIG KIDS! That playground looked like rats swimming around in a sewer…kids were all over the place and you couldn’t even see the ground or play equipment. What a mess. So we skipped that and walked around to look for some friends. We found a few folks we knew and decided to let OG down again…she was
having a BIG TIME and really enjoyed herself.

It was starting to get late…and it was getting cooler and we had not brought her a sweater, so we decided to leave. She wanted to stay but we let her know we would be back.

She had a big night on the town. When we got home she was asleep in no time! Dreaming of Peanuts & Cracker Jacks I hope.

Off to the library...

I just had to post these pix of OG. This is the cutest little backback and it looks so funny on her. It is almost bigger than her. She looks ready to tackle her SAT's and pull an all nighter studying with that bag on her back...only HER idea of an "all-nighter" is being up all night not wanting to sleep.

OK people...here's your Diva Dress-Up! GEESH!

ALRIGHT ALREADY! I hear you, I hear you! Apparently a girl can’t take a few days off from her blog in order to actually do some work for a change! ha I wasn’t able to post “Diva Dress-Up” last week and BOY did I hear from you all!

I got harassing emails, phone calls and in person comments about “Where is Diva Dress-Up?” or “I was on-line all day on Friday and was sooo disappointed”.

OK crazy people…here ya go…an installment of Diva Dress-Up. JUST for you!!

And here...OG & her "Diva in Training" friend Whit! She sure is cute...you should see all HER cute clothes! We love hanging out with her (and her parents aren't bad either.) ;)

**And FYI...I will be heading out of town onThursday so prepare yourselves now that you might not get a Diva Dress-Up this Friday either unless you can behave yourselves.

Fried Pickles & Family Fun

Last weekend while the VA Grandparents were in town, we went out and about on the town. We had a good time.

As part of our adventures, went to a local restaurant/diner downtown for lunch and had yummy hamburgers and Fried Pickles! Fried, artery-clogging crispy goodness on a plate! (Make sure you ask for extra ranch dressing to dip them in.) You know you are in the south when fried pickles and bottled coke with peanuts dumped in it are available on the menu! YUM-O

After that we strolled down the street back to our car and got to take a peek at a cool water feature that is between two buildings downtown. Pretty cool! And a neat way to make and “alley” look nice. They have done a lot recently to re-vamp downtown and we are really enjoying it…lots of nice restaurants, hangouts, theatres, clubs.

After we left downtown we headed to the farmers market to check out some plants and fresh veggies. We forgot the stroller so we had to carry OG most of the time or let her walk. She was all over the place….sniffing on flowers and picking up potatoes. She really enjoyed herself. It was a nice time to be with family that we don’t see very often.

Sweet Little Ava

This weekend we were lucky enough to have a visit from OG's sweet little friend Ava. She is my BFF's little girl and she is so beautiful! I just had to share some pix of Miss Sweetie for you all to enjoy her! I want to sprinkle some powdered sugar on those cheeks and eat her up!

Of course with the parents she has, how could she be anything but great!

Love me some Ava Cass!

Spring has Sprung!

Happy Spring!!!

Yard Work!!

The green thumb gets even greener!! This weekend OG got some practice with Daddy's lawn mower (it was not running of course...you don't need to report us to social services). Now if only she would learn to cut the diagonal lines in the yard like he likes, we'd be in business!!

Up next week...pulling weeds.

Diva Dress-Up #3

Here are some of the "fashions" from this week. The cutest is what she is wearing today which I forgot to take a picure of. I will post it next week.

And yes, I know the hat does not match her outfit...but it was hat day at school yesterday and ALSO picture day and I couldn't find anything else, so there! (Oh, and HAT DAY on the same day as PICTURE DAY? Who came up with THAT plan?!?!)

Happy Dress-Up Friday ya'll!

PJ day!!!

Getting to wear PJ’s to school??
How cool is THAT?

This week at OG’s school is:
“Week of the Young Child”.
They are doing all sorts of fun things each day.
Tuesday was PJ day.

I woke OG up and took her out of her PJ’s and put her right back into a new set. I know she must have been thinking “What the heck
is Mommy doing? Where are my sassy clothes? She is sending me
to school in THESE old rags? UGH!” Sorry OG.

So we got to school and even the teachers has PJ’s on…here I am
in my dress pants and nice top and they are walking around in
silk PJ’s and comfy pants! MAN! I was super jealous and wanted to stay there for the day. All of the kids were so
cute…some were in zip up ones, 2 piece ones, ones with footies, etc.
SO HILARIOUS!

She had a good time that day. When I picked her up from school
we rounded all the PJ clad munchkins together and took a picture.
Now it is captured forever on film! I am sure she will be SOOO
embarrassed around age 14 when I pull that out to show all of her friends.

**Check out all the kids in her class...doesn't OG
seem so much bigger than them? She will be 22 months next week
and you usually move to the next room at 18 months. We are still waiting for a spot to open up! UGH!

She seems so HUGE compared to her other
classmates now...except for "Jake-Ock" (Jacob) who is a little on the
PLUMP side, but cute.

Boxes Boxes Everywhere

What did I tell you about OG and her toys? She LOVES boxes and anything different than her normal toys! Check her out…she is literally climbing into her box that her baby wipes came in. FUNNY GIRL!

After a while of playing with this box and pulling it on and off her head, I finally took it away from her so she could 1) go to bed and 2) so I could throw it away. You would have thought I took her favorite “geet geet” (blankie) away from her. She went NUTSO. I felt bad for her but it WAS bedtime and the trash man was coming the next day. I wanted to get rid of it so it wasn’t sitting around the house for another week. We barely have enough room in our house for the 3 of us and a dog…let alone a bunch of boxes hanging out everywhere.

BUT, her happiness is not lost forever…Daddy needs to get a new fancy coffee maker before the weekend, and I am sure that comes with a cool box!

ZOO

OG had her first trip to the zoo this past weekend!
Here are some pix...

Green Thumb, Dirty Face

HGTV here we come!!

OG had a fun weekend planting flowers for the first time!

She wasn’t quite sure what to do at first but she quickly got the hang of it:

Step #1 - Eat the dirt…decide it is not so
bad then eat some more.

Step #2 - Water the brick & concrete…forget
about those little flowers…the stairs on the porch
need water a lot more.

Step #3 – Stand back and admire all of your
hard work! You are a master gardener at
the ripe ole’ age of 21 months!
