Little Fish!

My little girl is now a little fish! After months of afternoon swim practice/technique lessons with her Poppi, she started swim team this summer...and she had her first meet last Tuesday!  I was so nervous all day. I  couldn't eat.  I couldn't concentrate.  I couldn't hold a decent conversation.  OG? Yeah, she was fine.  A little anxious, but yeah...fine.

The meet was an away meet, not at our club...and was the first one of the year, and the first one for our family...but was so great.  I settled down, found a seat, proceeded to pace, and sit down, and stand up, and check on OG to make sure she was ok, and pace some more.  Oh wait - this is about OG.  Yeah - she did great.  She told ME to leave her alone because "I" was stressing her out.  Her first event was the 6 and under free relay - Um YEAH, her girls relay team came in 1st place!  Her second event was 6 and under backstroke. She came in 4th.  Her third event was 6 and under freestyle, she came in 3rd...and LITERALLY touched the wall less than half a second behind place #2!  ALMOST had her!

I am so proud of my girl!  Can't wait for this weeks meet!  Maybe I will sit a little more than I pace.  Nah, who am I kidding.
