There's a mouse in the house!

MICKEY MOUSE that is. Or I guess Minnie since the hat is pink! Mickey in a pink hat would be a little questionable. :) OG got these "ears" when she was 1 on her first trip to Disney. They FINALLY fit and I thought she looked cute! Now at 2.5 (3 in June) she has already been to Disney THREE times!

Pull-Ups!!!

FINALLY, we have graduated from diapers (except for at night) to Pull-Ups. I wish we had nothing but real panties, but HEY, BABY STEPS. She was so excited to get her Pull-Ups this past weekend. We told her that we didn't want to get the Princess on them wet, so she needed to tell us when she needed to go potty. Well, that doesn't work. She DOES constantly want to go sit on the potty and asks a lot and we take her a lot but she never does anything on the potty for me...she has always already done it in her Pull-Up. Her teachers are working with her a lot at school and she often is dry for them and will go on the potty...but not for me. She will get there soon in her own time, I hope. Patience is a Virtue as my parents used to say to me! YEAH RIGHT! I was an only child and still am...What the heck is patience?!?!. :)

Valentines Loot

Yeah yeah, I AM a week late on this but I had to post about it. OG had a great Valentines day and got lots of good loot!!! Of course they had a party at school, and OG racked up. Lots of treats and nice notes and goodies. She also got a care pakage in the mail from different grandparents (remember we have 4 sets, 8 grandparents total) almost everyday leading up to Valentines! CRAZY.

Happy Heart Day to everyone! I hope your day is full of love and hugs and smooches from your loved ones!!!

Once again I have no pix...I misplaced the cord to to download them. It is SOMEWHERE in my house. I am thinking it is in my kitchen that has countertops loaded down with tons of junk...or maybe it is in the playroom which now contains my washer/dryer and other stuff in the middle of the room. Why is this STUFF everywhere you ask? This week we had our playroom trim painted and freshened up to a nice white. We also had our laundry room painted a WONDERFUL shade of cheery yellow (if you need a GREAT yellow paint, get PEAR by Eddie Bauer, available at Lowe's...awesome)...we also had some new flooring put down in our laundry room. It WAS basic concrete so now it loooks AWESOME!! In order to have all of this done in there, we had to clear out everything and clear off gazillions of wire shelves that held, pots, platters, baskets, detergent, party stuff, crock pots, dog food, etc. We then had to take the shelves down so the painters could get to everything. UGH

The mess was worth it though...it looks great now in the laundry & playroom. So tonight we will celebrate V day by having a family dinner of yummy shrimp and whatever else we have in our house...and by putting everything away and watching LOST if I can stay up till 11. How Romantic! ha BUT...I will be with the ones I love...I wouldn't have it any other way.

Bye Bye Sippy Cups?

Ok, so first I appologize for being MIA...can you TELL I have had a lot going on? Work has been super busy and home has been busy too. We are prepping our house for it to go on the market in less than 2 weeks....so the final rush of painting, caulking, staging, cleaning, etc has come on full force. So please parden my absence over the next few weeks to come.

In other news...OG is doing pretty well with using real cups. She knows how to drink out of a regualar cup on her own of course and has been doing that for a LONG time (maybe a year or longer?)...but we still give her sippy cups. The other night at dinner however, I gave her a small child's cup. Again, she can drink out of them just fine, but the spilling is another issue. She forgets she has a real cup and will set it down sideways or drop it thinking nothing about it. That is why we still us sippys. But she did well at dinner. She sat it down nicely and didn't tilt it and spill or anything.

If we are going to switch over for good, I guess it might be a good idea to do the training NOW in our current house, before we have new floors etc. We better get on it!! Bring on the big kid cups!

It's Potty Time!

OG finally seems ready to learn how the use the potty. We have been working on it for a few months but she has just had no interest. Starting January 1st her teachers began working with her and they take her to the potty throughout the day. This is GREAT since she is there 10 of her 13 waking hours. She now sometimes asks to go to the potty...but mostly we have to ask her. We are getting there though. Slowly but surely.

We are going to buy some Pull-Ups this weekend and start working with those...we also have some rubber pants and thick panties already. Hubbie doesn't like me to use the word "panties" when talking about OG. He thinks that sounds too grown up and adult. But that is what they are. He would prefer me to use "underwear". Whatever.

And JUSt so I can totally embarass OG one day around her boyfriend...I have these:

More snow...sort of

POO! We were supposed to have a decent snow and then some ice (ice is not fun) and we barely got anything! Schools & colleges were closed, my work was closed, daycare was closed...the city almost shut down because of the impending doom of the storm to arrive in only a few hours. And THIS is all we got:

OG did go out in it and she thought it was neat...but it was kind of cold so we really didn't PLAY in it...we actually went out in our PJ's. HA The weather says we are due for more on Sunday but I won't rush out just yet to buy the bread and milk. And of course the minute we don't get excited about something, we will have a lot of snow.
