I'm a big kid now!!!

"Well we're movin' on up....to the east side...to a deluxe daycare room in the skyyyy..."

We are OFFICIALLY a big girl! On tuesday (our first day back at school from vacation) OG moved up from Toddler I to Toddler II. She is one of the smallest kids in there but that is ok.

When I dropped her off she was a little hesitant to let go being that she had been with us 24/7 for 10 days...but after a little coaxing, she went right to her new teacher and then was all "bye bye Mommy" and waving me off to leave! I can't even talk about it without getting a lump in my throat.

I called at nap time to check on her and they said she was fitting in well. She had sat at the big kids table in a real (short) chair and been very good during lunch. She was napping on her big girl cot and had been playing up a storm all day.

*Check out her friend Kyle behind her, so funny! He moved up from T I with her.

When I went to get her that afternoon, she was glad to see me but wanted to stay...they had an Elmo video on and were eating chips...Sounds fun to me!!! Elmo, chips and a deluxe daycare room...."as long we live, it's you & me baby...ain't nothing wrong with that!"

Hi!!!

We're coming to you LIVE from...wait...are we HOME???? YUCK, we ARE home now. :(
No more Mickey, no more "mimi-rail" (monorail), no more beach, no more missed naps & late nights...POO! We miss it already.

We had a wonderful time in Fl and are so sad to be back...we made it there in 8.5 hours (a record for us, even pre-OG) and we made it back in about the same time. Pretty darn good I would say. You would think that with all the JUNK we took with us, it would have loaded us down and taken us longer to get there and back.

Check out all the stuff we brought:
(and this does not include the beach toys and chairs that we dropped off at my dads house when we left the beach and headed to Disney)

OG did OK this year with all of the characters. She was a little more scared than she had been last year but I think she did fine considering all that was thrown at her. She learned lots of new words and started talking in phrases while we were there. She seems like a totally different child now.

Soooo, now we don't have anymore long vacations for the rest of the year. We have a few days here and there but no big 10 days off work like this time. Oh well, at least we have our memories...and boy are they good ones!

more vacation pix

OK, so for some reason my previous post would not allow me to put in many pix...so here are a few more from our trip!
ENJOY!

Greetings from Walt Disney World!

YES! We have internet access in our room at Disney! But in TRUE Disney style, there is a charge...$9.95 for a 24 hour period to be exact. SOO...this might be the only time you hear from me till we return this weekend.

We were at the beach earlier in the week and it was so pretty there...we had a great condo with a pool and got wayyyy too much sun!

SO WDW has been great...it is not too crowded in the parks, the sky is overcast so it is not too hot...All good things. OG is having a good time but is a little off in her sleep patterns (10:30 bed time is NOT a good thing to get in the habit of). She was a little scared of Mickey this trip (she wasn't last year) and was not fond of the carousel (what is it with her & horses lately?). But we did have fun on the Jungle Cruise, the Train, Alladain's Magic Carpet Ride (or something like that, I can't remember tha name). We got to see the Spectromagic parade tonight in the Magic Kingdom and that was fun too...OG LOVED the music and lights! Last night we popped over to EPCOT for a few hours and rode Spaceship Earth...that was pretty neat. We also got to see the fireworks while we were there.

OH and the BEST part is we are in a SUITE! We got bumped up thanks to Grandma Kay Kay's PERKS for being a Disney employee. We have a 2 bedroom SUITE with a living area also! YES!

We are off to Animal Kingdom & MGM Studio's tomorrow...and probably again on Friday!
I am off to bed since it is MIDNIGHT and we are getting up early tomorrow.

(more pix to come)

Walt Disney World here we come!!

YEAH!!
In lieu of OG's Diva Dress-Up this week (since we didn't have the camera all week and weren't able to take pix), I am posting a few fond memories of our FL/Disney trip from last year. Hopefully they will keep you occupied and help you picture us on our fabuloso vay-cay we leave for on Friday.

If, and I really mean IF, you are lucky...and IF the room has internet access, I MIGHT even be able to post from Disney! Way cool! So stay tuned and check back in with us about Wednesday of next week.

Check out THIS link to the resort we are staying at on the Disney property! NEAT! You can take a virtual tour and see the pools and all. While we are there we are going to eat HERE...FUN!YUM! The cool thing about this property is that it is right at the back entrance to EPCOT! It is a 5 min walk from our room to the back entrance. While we are at the Magic Kingdom, some must see's are THIS, THIS and of course THIS! The one thing I think we are ALL excited about is The Walt Disney World Railroad...OG & her grandfather LOVE trains so this will be a fun experience for all!

(PS. Can you tell i just learned how to add links on my blog??!! ha)

Miss Jr. Diva Dress- UP

I had to share with you all a picture of OG's little friend Whitley. She is so cute I could sop her up with a biscuit! (Can you tell we are from the south?!) Miss Whit is truly a Diva herself. I promised her Mom I would dedicate a post this week to her so here it is!! Check out her cute outfit (compliments of ME...I gave it to her last year, ha). Whit is wearing the best fashions of the season. She has on a sleeveless hot pink Ralph Lauren polo shirt that ties on the side with white IZOD pants...and of course the HAIR BOW! Any good Diva knows you don't leave home without your hair bow.

Pomp and Circumstance

It’s cap & gown season as we all know. The colleges have already had their ceremonies and the High Schools will have their time over the next few weeks. All the kiddies are growing up and spreading their wings.

WELL, soon it will be OG’s turn! She is graduating from the Toddler I room, to the Toddler II room. “I be soo ‘cited” as my Mom would say. I am so proud of our baby girl! She is moving up in the world. And I know her daycare director is glad too...I have been bugging them for MONTHS asking when she would move. There are kids younger than her who moved back earlier in the year. Why hadn’t she moved?! What is the delay?! When she came into the program she was a little smaller and not as up to speed on everything the other kids were doing…she walked late and did some other things delayed b/c of her adjusted age. But she has caught up above and beyond and has been for a few months.

One day when I went in and complained...I mean ASKED, about her moving status, they informed me she was next on the list to move up when a spot came available. So I was very excited. Then one day a few weeks later when I picked her up one afternoon, I noticed TWO, YES TWO new children in her class. Well, that means that in order for 2 kids to come in, 2 kids have to go…and OG had not gone. I was NOT a happy Momma about this. So I went to talk to the director…I found out one kid in OG’s room had dropped out so his spot came available (ok fair enough)…but what about the OTHER SPOT?...how did THAT come available? Turns out they went ahead and moved up Jacob to the Toddler I’s when OG was supposed to be next in line!!

WHAT’S UP WITH THAT!!??!!!

They said they moved Jacob up b/c he was a big boy (he IS huge) and they wanted to get him out of the smaller kids room. They said OG was tiny and in the new room kids would be a lot bigger than her. (OK, NOT true…half of those kids were just in OG’s room a few months ago and some are just her size b/c I still see them coming in everyday.). I told them YES, OG is small but she will always be petite. If we wait for her to GROW, she will NEVER move into that room.

It wouldn’t have been as mad if they had just told me ahead of time “You know, we really want to get Jacob out of this current room b/c he seems to be a hazard to the smaller kids, I know we told you OG would be next but would you mind if we go ahead and move Jacob, and THEN OG?” I would have been FINE with that…but instead I just come in and find that he has moved and OG has stayed when they promised me she would go next.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my daycare and LOVE her teacher’s and everyone there…this one incident was just…FRUSTRATING!

*Her favorite teacher Miss Nicole or "Cole" (as OG calls her) with OG or "Livie" (as Miss Cole calls HER)...and YES, I have the camera back!

So, last week I got the big notice that she would be moving up on May 31st!...believe it or not, after all the above mentioned stuff, and all of my “Mama Drama”…I was SAD. Our girl is growing up. Now I don’t want her to move. But it is time for her to spread HER wings…maybe she can go in there and show Jacob a things or two.

World Wide Appeal

WOW, it has come to my attention that "Life With OG" is read almost daily by a friend of mine's Mom who is in Milan, Italy! How cool! My friend herself is in the Phillipines...that is cool too! It is neat to know that OG is being beamed all over the world via her/my blog!

So Ciao (HELLO) to my friend Ilaria's Mama!!

So, where are YOU looking at OG's blog from today? Feel free to leave a comment and let us know! :)

More stock footage...sorry. :)

Missing Camera

Those of you who know me (and I hope you all know me since you are surfing around on my blog...I hope there are no weird stalkers on here) know I am a camera freak. I take pictures of everything...especially since OG came along. My camera is almost always with me in my car or in my purse.

Well, Hubbie went to visit his Mom this weekend, and took OG and the camera...OG came back (thank goodness), the camera didn't. UH OH! How will we all survive?? Supposedly his Mom is mailing it to us. Lets hope it gets here before we leave for Florida on Friday. So in the meantime, this blog will either have no pix or we will have to re-use some old stock footage. So here's your first stock footage pics. Some from Disney & the beach in FL last year...I can't wait for our trip!

Thanks for your patience!

Diva Dress-Up

Diva Dress-Up is kind of boring for this week. Sorry! We are in that weird in between weather stage where it is cold in the morning and sometimes warm in the afternoons but sometimes chilly. So we are still stuck in some winter clothes that I am so sick of seeing. I am SOOO ready for the cute summer clothes to be all she needs to wear. Once that time comes, Diva Dress-Up will be a lot better, I promise. Please be patient with us and with mother nature.

Have a nice weekend!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Check her out...

I know I should save this for Diva Dress-Up but it was just so funny looking that I couldnt' wait. Check out OG in her Grandma's old 1980's (is that old???) jewelry! So funny! And check out her sequined belt! Those things are back in style now!
CRAZY!

Pony rides are fun?!...(not so much)

We went to a little spring carnival at a local school this weekend. It was mostly for school aged children but they had pony rides which I thought would be fun for OG. She had been on a pony at the big county fair thing in October and really didn't think much of it. So we figured this time she would really enjoy it since she is older. umm...NO.

At first we rode a donkey/mule because it was smaller and easier for OG to get on. She was not too thrilled about it...and neither was Mommy since I had to walk around with her (which I didn't mind) and step in poo about 10 times as we went round and round (which I did mind).

Next we rode a pony...we thought we would try it one more time. This time Daddy went around with her...again, not so fun.
Oh well, maybe next time! As her FL grandfather mentioned..."maybe she'll at least like the horses on the carousel at Disney World when you are down in a few weeks". He's probably right...they don't move around and you don't have to worry about stepping in their poo. If there IS poo then it is MAGICAL POO...hey, you are at Disney afterall, right?!?! The Most Magical Place on Earth!

War Wounds

OG has officially been sent out to battle and has officially returned with war wounds. A few weeks ago she got bitten for the first time at school. Oh wait…I didn’t tell you about that?! My bad. Well, now this week we have been scratched. According to the “Boo Boo Report” from school there was a “scuffle” on the playground and another child GRABBED OG’s face. She was not at fault…she did nothing to provoke this delinquent…she was just standing there

From the looks of the scratches on her face, it was Edward Scissorhands who grabber her face and not some 22 month old toddler. The picture does not do it justice…those scratches were deep. I am thinking of investing in nail clippers for every child’s cubbie and leaving them along with a note to the parents to cut their child’s nails!!

As with any Boo Boo Incident, they won’t tell you WHO the child was….they only way you can tell is by seeing what other child has an “incident report” taped to their cubbie letting their parent know they harmed another child. I think I got there too late on Friday and the other child was already gone. I saw no other white tell-tale papers flying in the breeze on the cubbies. I tried to ask OG but to no avail. But you just wait…a few more months she will be able to tell me. Be warned Edward/Edwardette Scissorhands!! OG has some incisors coming in! (Kidding, Kidding).

Warning! Warning!

Hold onto your knickers folks...there might not be a Diva-Dress-Up this week. I have been a slacker and have not taken ANY pix of OG. I KNOW! Can you believe it?!?! What is up with that! I am a bad Mommy blogger.

Soo, for those of you who freak out if on Friday by 12 noon there is no Diva Dress-Up post, you all will just have to control yourself and behave like good boys & girls.

NOW, I MAY be able to surprise you and get SOMETHING up, but we'll see.

So in the words of the great hip hop singer of the 90's, Rob Base..."Don't like it? So what, I don't care." :)

OG stats

OG had her 22 month check up (at22.5 months) yesterday. This was SUPPOSED to be a well-baby check-up meaning just checking her out...no shots, no drama. I told OG that morning that we were going to have fun at the doctor's office. I LIED!!! It was not exactly fun. Turns out they have a new hepatitis shot out that OG was due for NOW and again in 6 months. They also wanted to test her blood count to see if all was OK.

So we went in and had a good time to start with...we were weighed, measured, looked at...then the fun began. We got a shot in the leg that she was not happy about...but she received a LOVELY Elmo band-aid to HELP (?) with the pain. THEN, we had to get a finger prick...Oh, the fun finger prick. The prick was not all that bad...it was the continuous pressing of the finger to get the blood out that threw her over the edge. After the nurse had collected enough blood, I then had to hold gauze on her finger for a minute or so to stop the bleeding. THAT was worse than the prick. Poor baby, she was not happy with Mama at that point. But for THAT she got a pink & purple polka dot band-aid that made her feel much better...NOT!!!

The good news about this trip:
*She is 21 lbs 5.5 oz (5th percentile on the growth charts...still tiny but GROWING)
*31" long (about 8% on the growth charts)
*28 3/4 head circumference (about 75% on the charts I think it was...just call her Miss Big Head)
*She is above and beyond on all of her motor skills & communication skills

SO, she is OFFICIALLY on the growth chart now...she is LOW on the chart, but at least she is ON IT!! We no longer need to adjust for prematurity anymore. She is what she is. And she is GREAT!
You've come a long way baby!!
