*The house we stayed in is in between the pink & blue chairs in this pic...the pic doesn't do it justice (the rest of the house is hidden behind the dunes). It is 4 stories and is beautiful! 5 bedrooms, 5 baths and an elevator. We love it. It is so nice yet comfy and inviting!! Thanks to my friend (and her Mom since it is HER house) for letting us come stay there with her.We had a great time at the beach...OG had fun with her little friend Elizabeth. We had a few "moments" with SHARING...OG is not so good at it...many things were MINE when they really weren't MINE. LOL But all in all she was good and we all had fun. We even had babysitters some nights so the mommies & daddies could go out to eat sans kids! YES!!
I never thought I would say this but I don't want another trip for a while! LOL It is fun and all, but it is tiring packing up everything but the kitchen sink. If you have a young child you know...whether you go for one day or 7 days, you have to take the same amount of stuff (give or take a few extra diapers)! You need a booster seat, pack n' play, blankets, toys, food for the child, pacies, sippy cups, portable dvd players, monitors, medicine (just in case), clothes, diapers, wipes, bathing suits, swim diapers (so you don't get "junk in the trunk")...and the list goes on and on.
For my generation...our parents will tell us we never needed all of that stuff. "We just threw you on the floor board in the car and went on our merry way. You slept on the floor on a pallet (comforters & sheets stacked up) had one toy and one outfit and you liked it", they will say.
OH well, welcome to the world of excess!
We are living the true American dream:
house...check
nice car...check
dog...check
child...check
happiness...check
more junk than you need but you just HAVE TO have it...CHECK and DOUBLE CHECK!!
